Simon (MD) used to be a programmer (no time for that now!), which helps with understanding the developmental pressures, timeframes, and generally having good insight into best practice and project management strategies that work and don't work. For instance we've never considered introducing SCRUM methodologies as we know it simply wouldn't work in our agency setup, and many of the policies encumbant within SCRUM simply don't fit with the way we work or our understanding and effective use of an Agile approach.
