Client project launched: Skills Platform

Webigence recently won a competitive tender from 'Skills Effect' (formally 'Skills Third Sector') to build the Skills Platform http://www.skillsplatform.org/, which provides an effective and flexible place for individuals and organisations to find, compare and share the professional training they need.

It has real potential to make a difference and we’re excited to be involved. The Get Ready campaign site launched at the start of October on the URL www.skillsplatform.org to allow users to register and add their basic profile details, with more sections of the platform being added over the proceeding weeks. The full platform was launched in early December and has a comprehensive skills search facility, clever and appropriate messaging, user, organisation and collaboration profiles, white label capability, intuitive CMS functionality and more besides.

It is being built using ASP.NET (4.5) MVC (4) using Entity Framework (5) Code First, as well as using Razor, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and responsive design so will work across all devices.

Skills Effect helps third sector organisations and their communities to achieve objectives and targets through professional development. Find out more on their website: www.skills-thirdsector.org.uk and we'll keep you updated with our progress on this venture as there are some exciting new developments in the pipeline.

“During the procurement phase, technology companies advised it wasn’t possible to deliver our ambitious digital marketplace for skills in the required timelines. However, Webigence didn’t. We have seen that their skilled developers have delivered all we asked for and more and as a company they have been great to work with, thinking alongside us and challenging us, where necessary, for our own best interest.”
